Future City Competition

Calling all builders and engineers! Come to the Sony Plaza Public Arcade to meet local seventh and eighth grade students participating in the 2012 National Engineers Week Future City Competition and see their designs and models for the city of the future. Hands-On-Nano Demos

Explore the fascinating world of nanoscience and nanotechnology!  Participate in hands-on activities that explore the properties, structures, materials, and scale of this important field of science. Also, visit our interactive Nanotechnology Exhibit to learn about various nanotechnology applications in use today. All activities require general admission to the Lab. No reservation required. Best suited for ages 7 and up.

Wonderful Screenings

Join us for a special day of "Wonder"-filled screenings at the Lab on Saturday, January 28. For our youngest guests, we will be screening "Sesame Street: Abby in Wonderland" in the morning, followed later in the day by Tim Burton's “Alice in Wonderland” for our older visitors.

Family Workshops

Bring the family and join us for creative activities and fun programs! Family Workshops are scheduled after our Thursday Children’s Screenings and offer hands-on opportunities to build upon the themes and lessons of those movies. Best suited for our younger audiences.

Sci-Tech Workshops

Whether you like to take things apart or put them together, these hands-on workshops let you explore the science of technology, while using your imagination as the main ingredient. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

Tech in the Plaza

Ever wonder what’s inside your electronic gadgets and gizmos? Uncover the inner workings of the devices you use every day while the Lab’s Technology Guides help you take them apart piece-by-piece. All Tech in the Plaza demonstrations take place in the Sony Plaza. No reservation required and space is limited. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

Tech for Tots Workshops

Join us for special workshops that encourage learning through technology! Work with your toddler to explore the different and fun ways computers, digital cameras and other technologies can play an important role in their early development. Children also practice social skills necessary for more structured school settings later in their development. Best suited for children at a pre-k to kindergarten learning level (between ages 3-6).
