Robots on Display

Explore a variety of unique robots on display at the Lab throughout the months of April and May. NYC’s Robot Village brings their playful collection of toy robots and joins us for several Bot Building workshops in March and April. Robot Display’s are available to all visitors with an admission ticket to the Lab. Check out our Events Listings for more information on workshops.

 

Nanodays

Join us the last week of March for our annual Nanodays event. In collaboration with the Nanoscale Informal Science Education (NISE) Network, the Lab will offer a variety of engaging activities and hands-on workshops in nanotechnology. Experiment with the properties, structures, materials and scale of this important field of science. See a real nanoscope demonstrated in our HD Theater (courtesy of Sony DADC) and learn about how the digital world utilizes nano based science. Video Game Workshops

Get ready to get in the game! This unique workshop runs for eight weeks every Saturday beginning March 6th – April 24th. Children will work hands-on with an instructor to develop their own unique levels for the Little Big Planet video game. Check out our Events Listings for more information on workshops.

 

Children's Screenings from Nick Jr.

Bring the little ones in to see their favorite characters and programs on the big screen! We’ve expanded our Children’s Screenings series to include The Backyardigans, Celebrate With Kai-Lan and Wonder Pets! Tech For Tots Workshops

Join us for a special workshop series that enhances learning through technology! Work with your child to explore different and fun ways technology can play an important role in their early development.

 

Tech In The Plaza

Ever wonder what’s inside your electronic gadgets and gizmos? Uncover the inner workings of the devices you use every day while the Lab’s Technology Guides help you take them apart piece-by-piece. All Tech In the Plaza demonstrations are located in the Sony Plaza. No reservation required and space is limited. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

 

Family Workshops

Have some family fun with creative activities and programs! Family Workshops are scheduled after our Thursday Children’s Screenings and offer hands-on opportunities to build upon the themes and lessons of those movies. Best suited for our younger audiences.

Sony Plaza Events

The Sony Wonder Technology Lab branches out into the Sony Plaza and fills the 14,000 square foot space with fun events and special presentations. All programs in the Plaza are free and open to the public.
